Portland's Japanese Garden is considered one of the most authentic outside of Japan. It was opened in 1963 and contains five distinct gardens, with a total of two to three thousand plants. The five gardens are: The Flat Garden, The Sand and Stone Garden, the Strolling Pond Garden, The Tea Garden, and the Natural Garden.

How lovely! The monochromatic tones allow me to see all the tiny details, like the stones lining the sides of the path, and that wonderful gate, left ajar to welcome visitors. It invites me to wonder...what is on the other side? Such a great point of view, that path leading to the gate.

Thank you once again for your poetic comments, Karen. I appreciate your support. If ever I'm in Annapolis Valley, NS, the first drink is on me.
