The chapel of the Madonna di Vitaleta is a Catholic place of worship located in the rural town of Vitaleta, in the municipal area of San Quirico d'Orcia , in the province of Siena . The church, privately owned, falls within the territory of the archdiocese of Siena-Colle di Val d'Elsa-Montalcino .
The chapel, probably of late Renaissance origin , is mentioned for the first time in a document from 1590 . The building, damaged by an earthquake, was redesigned both externally and internally by the architect Giuseppe Partini in 1884 , taking inspiration from sixteenth-century models . Starting from March 2021, it was subjected to an impressive restoration work together with the farm in front, financed by the owner, who brought the small chapel to its original appearance in 1884.
